In 1968 George Patrick, patriarch of the Lynn family, allowed his sons Brian and Anthony to plant vines on the family’s sheep grazing Coonawarra property. In honour of this great wisdom, the Lynns now have their finest bottling GPL68 branded with his initials for the planting of this original vineyard. Apart from being entirely from this single original site (now with vines over 60 years of age) this is also a barrel selection of the finest parcels from this plot in any given vintage. They must have great structure and concentration, balanced with a certain finesse and the potential for great longevity. Only a maximum of eight barrels ever contribute.

“The colour here is a deep maroon. Certainly, there is maturity evident, but the wine is still fresh and energetic. The nose reveals notes of dry herbs, animal skins, soy, charcuterie, licorice and sour cherries. A supple and seductive texture, there is good focus and a long lingering finish. The wine maintains intensity throughout and concludes with satiny tannins. It should easily provide pleasure for another eight to ten years. A cracking Coonawarra Cabernet.” 95 points, Wine Pilot
