Nino Negri Quadrio Valtellina Superiore DOCG

Sourced from Valtellina Superiore vineyards on the steep slopes of the Rhaetian Alps, this wine comes from south‑, southeast‑ and southwest‑facing terraces between 300 and 550 metres. It takes its name from Castello Quadrio di Chiuro, the 15th‑century fortified palace that now houses the Nino Negri winery, originally built for Stefano Quadrio, governor of Valtellina. The blend reflects a refined balance between Nebbiolo’s natural austerity and the softer, fruit‑driven character of Merlot. On these alpine terraces, Merlot develops sweet, plush fruit and velvety tannins, tempering Nebbiolo and offering a more approachable, immediately enjoyable style of Valtellina Superiore.

In the glass, it shows a garnet colour with ruby highlights. The nose is finely detailed, featuring berry fruit, balsamic tones, raspberry jam, and floral notes of rose and violet. The palate is full, dry and vibrant, carried by elegant, well‑structured tannins.
